  • PfS = Playing for Success, a highly effective government programme that has been inspiring children to embrace education for more than 10 years now
  • As part of PfS we empower children to build core skills in English, Maths & ICT
  • We believe that adventure + learning = success
  • DAZL raises heartbeats, raises expectations & raises standards
  • Children improve after attending Cornwall PfS courses. In reading, 85% of children met national expectation, 38% exceeded it. In maths, 76% met national expectation, 13% exceeded it. Remember, these results are from children who were identified as not reaching their potential.

Meet Pete

Pete GossAll PfS centres have a sporting champion who nurture and encourage achievement by example. We are feel privileged that ours is the renowned Cornish sailor and explorer, Pete Goss. Pete is a tireless promoter of PfS. He’s a founder of the charity >> Cornwall Playing for Success, devotes a lot of his free time to helping us, and is an inspiration to us all. >> more on Pete’s amazing exploits.

Look at all our kit

We’re very lucky to be associated with Cornwall Outdoors, who have a centre directly opposite us. Which gives us access to a superb range of sporting equipment and expertise. But our impressive suite of IT hardware and software means we’re also extremely well-equipped for inspiring children inside the classroom:

  • Multiple iMac Laptops, PCs, software & broadband access
  • Printers, including one large format, and scanners
  • Multiple digital cameras and a digital camcorder
  • Movie-making facilities
  • Interactive whiteboard
  • A set of fleeces and waterproofs

On top of that we have a dedicated learning space, library, interactive suit, toilets and changing area. We’ve even got our own minibus.
