Pete, DAZL & 'Spirit of Mystery'
Pete Goss our Cornwall Playing for Success Sporting Champion takes DAZL students on an inspiring look at his 2008 adventure, the sailing of the Spirit of Mystery. Pete as always had so much to tell the children about old and modern boat building techniques, sailing and of course about the original sailors who set sail so long ago.
Pete built the wooden lugger to follow in the wake of seven Cornishmen who made a heroic journey to Australia 153 years ago. The boat which has now proudly taken to the water on the 21st June 2008 is undergoing final fittings before its' epic voyage in October. Proud of his West country roots and an enthusiastic wood-worker, the project is something Pete had wanted to do since he heard about the inspirational voyage of the Mystery. Read more...
